Sue was born in Japan and moved to California at the age of two. Due to her father's work, Sue was raised in India, Hawaii, California and New York. Because of the geographic location she was raised, Sue learned ballet, Irish dance, Masala Bhangra, Latin dance, and Hula since she was three years old. Among all the dances Hula has been the love of her life.

She was introduced to Hula when she was five years old.  Among all the wonderful Kumu Sue has come across, she has been most impacted and has been with her Kumu in Maui . She has taught Sue not only the art of dancing Hula but the way of life through Hula. It is now a natural extension of how Sue expresses what she believes in her heart. Sue's vision is for na ‘olapa (dancers) to come together in lokahi (unity) and aloha (love) in order to nurture, express, and bring to light the meanings of both mele (song) and hula. That expression needs to well up from our na’au (mind, heart) and radiate outward. Through Hula, Sue wishes her na'olapa (dancers) to learn disciplines, values, respect, ethics, and traditions.
Since moving to Singapore in 2011 and finding no authentic Hula class in Singapore, Sue received her Kumu and several other Kumu's blessing to open her own class here in Singapore to spread the authentic Hawaii's aloha spirit through Hula.

Sue has performed in numerous events and shows including the prestigious Moanikeala Festival. She has been featured in several magazines and TV shows. Sue's class is conducted in a Hawaiian style, and is taught in English, Japanese, and Hawaiian.

Sue's Hula classes are all conducted using Hawaiian, English and Japanese language following the authentic Hawaiian halau style.

Wahine classes are conducted with traditional Hawaiian style Ipu heke ("the hula drum")  for basics, followed by auana (modern hula with songs) and kahiko (traditional hula with Oli')

Keiki a Makuahine classes are fun filled class for mommy and me.  Learning basic Hawaiian words, songs, and culture through dancing Hula and story time.

Advanced Keiki class is for keiki who has experience in dancing Hula.  Class starts from chanting oli, followed by technique done with Ipu heke, followed by auana and kahiko.
